VAR_PF_CTRL

VAr-mode or power-factor-mode excitation control for a grid-paralleled machine, with the power-factor target derived from real power.

Validated application blockGen · Load SharingIEC 61131-3IEC 61499v1.0.0

When to use it

Use VAR_PF_CTRL when a machine runs in parallel with a stiff grid that already fixes the voltage, so the AVR can no longer control voltage and must instead be told how much reactive power — or what power factor — to hold.
