OPEN_CHANNEL_FLOW

Open-channel flow from head over a rated structure — V-notch, rectangular weir, Parshall flume, Cipolletti or a custom exponent.

Validated application blockW/WW · Flow & HydraulicsIEC 61131-3IEC 61499v1.0.0

When to use it

Use OPEN_CHANNEL_FLOW when flow in an open channel — works inlet, storm overflow, final-effluent chamber, sludge channel — is measured as head over a weir plate or through a flume, and the rating equation has to be evaluated in the PLC rather than in the transmitter.
